Ordering Options for Bronze or Brass or Aluminum Plaques

On this page you will find the general options available for bronze, brass, and aluminum plaques of classic style and architectural permanence.

If you want a metal plaque of exceptional quality and design - we're here to help you every step of the way

Our goal is to provide you with a high quality work of art, one custom-made to fit your needs. It's possible to create a cookie-cutter template with X many characters per line and X many lines per plaque with only limited font choices - but in our opinion that doesn't do justice to the process or what you're honoring with these raised artwork plaques.

PRODUCTION TIME ON THES TYPES OF PLAQUES: Generally 1-2 business days for artwork and design
then 24-25 business days to ship or pickup. Rush production is not available.
Plaques incorporating BAS RELIEF photos will take longer. (See details elsewhere on this page.)

Option 1 - Metal

Brass - a metal beloved for it's gold-like appearance and a beautiful material for a precision tooled plaque with raised letters.

Bronze - an important and durable alloy humans have used for thousands of years, this may be the most popular and important metal for outdoor cast or precision tooled plaques ever used.

Aluminum- until the late 1890s this useful silver colored metal was more expensive than gold. Today a plaque made of aluminum is light and strong and more cost effective as a cast or precision tooled plaque than one made of brass or bronze.

Option 2 - Finish

Brushed Satin Finish (standard and most popular)

Polish Finish - this finish is unusual (and adds 50% to the cost for bronze or aluminum and 60% to the cost for brass)

Oxidized Bronze - this "pre-aging" finish for bronze plaques is atypical (and adds 15% to the cost)

Over-Paint - depending on the artwork, some raised areas could be over-painted with a color. 2 additional colors maximum - $70 additional per color.

Flash-bronze - a color option only for aluminum plaques that will be used indoors - this dye turns the silver aluminum into something close to the color of a bronze/brass plaque (adds 15% to the cost)

Option 5 - Background Color

One background color for the recessed areas is included in the cost.
Additional color fills may be possible, contact us for details. A lot depends on the logo or area you're trying to fill in.

Option 6 - Mounting Method

"Blind" Stud Mount
Hole Mount - please specify wood, concrete, brick, etc. so we can provide the right mounting hardware. The heads can be painted to match the background color (or see the rosette area under Option 6)
Garden Stake Mount (suitable for plaques up to 12" x 8")
Post Mount - available 6' or 8' tall and can be cut shorter
Post Cap Mount - designed to fit 1.5", 2", or 3" ID schedule 40 posts.
Square Post Side Mount
Square Post Back Mount

Option 7 - Rosettes

Up to four are included with a new plaque and would be used to cover hole mounting methods.

Matte
Satin - standard
Semi-gloss - (historically popular)

How To Receive A Quote

To provide an informed quote on your project we would need to know a couple things:

1) Review the Ordering Options at the top of this page and let us know which you think are closest to your vision. We would also be glad to discuss each option with you at more length.

2) Do you have a specific or at least rough idea of the size you'd like the plaque to be?

3) Will there be text only or also logos or photos incorporated?

4) Do you have a general idea of how much text you're looking to have on the plaque?

5) Would you prefer square, circle, rectangle, oval, or some other shape?

6) What kind of wall or object are you thinking of mounting the plaque to? (Stone, pillar, brick, drywall, concrete, something else?) [In other words do we need to plan to leave room for mounting holes?]

If you email or call with that information, we can pretty quickly give you a ballpark price. We'd also be glad to set up an initial proposed layout (no obligation) to see if your project can fit on a plaque of the size you intend.
We can also quote you on the smallest size possible with your artwork - and then quote you the next several larger sizes up.
