Personalizing an already carefully selected gift with engraving
can greatly enhance the value to the recipient.
You also might consider including a date in any engraving. It may
not seem important now, but gift receipients often appreciate it
as the years go by.
Below are some basic text samples that could be used for various
engraving purposes. We are always happy to assist you in coming
up with the proper text to recognize your event. Simply contact
us regarding your project.

BABY
Birth
The following information is often engraved on gifts for newborn
babies, depending on space available on the item.
First and Middle Name(s) [boldest engraving]
Date of Birth
Time of Birth
Birth Weight
Birth Length
Example for an item for Thomas
Michael Conley
with a great deal of space:
Thomas Michael
The engraving would be arranged in an appropriate
sequence to fit the item, or by the choice of the client.
Example for an item with less
space:
Thomas Michael
Baptism:
For a baptism, the first and middle name(s) are included, as well
as the date of the baptism and the label "baptism" or
"baptized".

ACHIEVEMENT /
CONGRATULATIONS
The name of the recipient is often engraved
in larger letters, followed by a message regarding the message and
the date. Tilde (~) can be used around the date.
A secondary piece of text is sometimes
written to support the first.
The name of the couple is in the
boldest engraving. Here are two different approaches to engraving
the date.
ANNIVERSARY (Service)
The name of the individual is in the boldest engraving.
The corporate logo would often be included, but is not strictly
necessary, especially depending upon the size of the item to be
engraved.

APPRECIATION
The name of the presenter can be engraved at
the bottom of the appreciation plate or plaque. It should be noted
that sometimes entire plaques are inscribed with the engraving,
and other times a small plate bearing the same information may be
attached to an item, or at the bottom of a plaque with a picture
permanently affixed to the top of the plaque.
DEDICATION
Dedication plaques can be as simple as a small plate on a door,
or a large metal plate centered on a wooden plaque. Depending on
your budget and needs, you can really make a dedication plaque stand
out by choosing a cast plaque. Contact

MEMORIAL
MONOGRAMS
Engraved Monograms for Couples
Monograms are typically engraved
for a bride and groom in the following manner:
First initial would be the Bride's first name
Second initial would be the couple's last name
The third initial would be the Groom's first.
Example: If Jennifer Conley married Robert Smythson
and the couple chose to take the last name of Smythson, the monogram
would be in a format like this:

Block Engraved Monogram

Circle Engraved Monogram
Note: if you are purchasing the
gift for a couple, it may be advisable to inquire of the couple
if they plan to take one of the last names for each of them, to
hyphenate their last names together, or to keep their own names.
This can prevent the somewhat embarassing gift of an incorrectly
engraved item.
If the couple will not share a
single last name, we would suggest engraving just their first names.
Example:
Jennifer & Robert
Monograms for Individuals
Monograms for individuals are typically engraved in the
following manner:
First initial would be the person's first name
Second initial would be the person's last name
The third initial would be the person's middle name
The last name initial is placed in the center
and engraved larger than the other two initials.
Example: Jennifer Ann Conley would have the
monogram:

Block Engraved Monogram

Circle Engraved Monogram

Script Engraved Monogram
When a person has two middle names the following
initials would be suggested instead:
Example: Jennifer Ann Marie Conley would have
the initials engraved in block, standard, or script:
JAMC
If a person has no middle name, we would suggest
the following:
Example: Jennifer Conley would have the
initials engraved in block, standard, or script:
JC

placed on the top or left side of the plaque.
The name is typically in larger letters. The award name or company

RETIREMENT
Here are two formats for honoring 25 years of service for a retiring

We suggest personalizing the dedication with something specific that
the employee would be remembered for.

WEDDING
Wedding Cake Knife / Server Sets
These are typically engraved with
the first names of the couple and the date of the wedding. For example:
The bride's name is first, followed by the groom's
name seperated by an ampersand (&).
Some clients do prefer to spell out the ampersand
as an 'and', and may have the date written out like so:
Both the knife and the server are
engraved on one side each, typically for a right handed individual
to be holding them in his or her right hand and viewing the inscription.
Some clients intending the knife / server set for a left handed
person will prefer the engraving to be read when in the left hand.
